The year that was...

Another year gone by, and now that one is recovering from the inevitable Tsunami of new year wishes, perhaps it is the best time to reflect and ponder. Perhaps the best time was the end of last year, but better late than never as they say..
And with that thought, as i woke up this morning, there was so much to reflect over. Joy and gratitude for a peaceful year in much of the world. Gratitude for seeing Xmas being celebrated across the world, and with the inevitable Bollywood touch in India, a sensual treat of Indian masala blended with the spirit of Yuletide.
For me , it was simple gratitude for being able to join in a solemn Xmas service on Xmas eve In London where the priest reminded us that we all have gifts to get and give. For whatever gift has been bestowed on us, the gift of speech, of music, of dance, or simply laughter, that we could multiply it bountifully by spreading it around us. And equally, a wish for the rest of the world , engulfed in turmoil and natural disasters- a wish for everlasting peace.
So that we humans could live in the moments we have, be grateful to nature for everything she gives us, and not ruin her bounty by fighting amongst ourselves. So that everyone in the world could have their peace , home, shelter , food and care , instead of the havoc and turmoil that seems to have become the order of the day. So that order could finally prevail over chaos, that harmony and joy be the tidings to get. For that i wish, that there was a superpower that could just restore calm, happiness and joy across the wold , with a wave of a magic wand, as with Santa on Xmas .
As the year ends and a new chapter begins, i wish for magic in the wishing mirror*- the magic of peace and joy to spread magically everywhere in the world!
