Spring- Holi in the air!

And March is finally around the corner, with Spring in the air.

If spring is coming, can Holi be far behind? The festival of colours- Holi follows closely. It begins quietly, almost surreptitiously, when the air turns mischievous. When the sun feels warmer, when colour packets quietly appear in shop windows, and when children walk past them pretending they do not care. It begins with secret plans and bold declarations — this year, we will start the colour wars, the most innocent of them all.

The day of the Holi arrives with loud knocks and louder laughter. Before anyone can protest, colour enters the house like an uninvited but very welcome guest. The first splash is cold and dramatic. After that, dignity leaves. The quiet ones shout. The dramatic ones perform. The “I will not play this year” friend becomes the most dangerous of all.

By noon, no one looks good and everyone looks happy. Faces blur into pinks and greens, and for a few hours, nothing else matters.

And somehow, even as we grow older and celebrations grow smaller, one “Happy Holi” is enough to take us back to that door, that knock, that first splash.

Some festivals do not age. They simply wait for the air to turn mischievous again.

Happy Holi to all readers,

Regards,

"Love this vibe! 🎨 Holi's just around the corner, and the anticipation is palpable! Aina Rao captures the essence perfectly – the sneaky arrival of spring, the mischievous air, and the inevitable explosion of colour. It's a festival that brings out the kid in everyone, and that's pure magic 😊. Bring on the colours!"
