The most awesome feeling

The. most awesome feeling !

This morning, I woke up to an awesome message. One of my kids sent her "first formal positive feedback", something she received from a senior consultant in the NHS. And it was amazing to see what was written about her- "calm and supportive manner" with the medical team on call .. as a mother, feeling proud today, basking in reflected glory. !

A thought just came to mind . It being Sunday- the day of the Sun God, a day to pray and thank the Sun for bringing glory into our lives every day!

This is one of the tenets of some of the oldest civilisations that is so fascinating and endearing. Whether devout or not, Hinduism beleives in the God that manifests itself through many forms, be it avtars, or be it through nature. We may pray to any God, or many Gods, , but equally importantly, we pray to God who also manifests as Allah, Christ, Guru Nanak, Buddha, or simply mother Nature- the Sun, the moon, the earth, water and fire. Rever and thank them all for everything they give us.  Some of the oldest civilizations, the Perus and the Incas certainly did that, every day . Remember Tintin and the story "land of the sun" , when Tintin ingenously used the power of the Sun God to release the captives? in fact, some of these civilisations treat the Sun as a father , for nourishing life itself.

But, back to the awesome feeling. I know it well, when someone appreciates a gesture, the work you do- with sincerity, it feels so good. No magic formula to it, you are just giving the best version of yourself .Even after having many such appreciations at work, each time a new feedback comes up, it feels so good , once again.

Equally then, how many times do we send a message of appreciation to the postman who brings us the post, the delivery driver, the waiter, or the people who help us every day? Maybe, it is a thought to have a moment of appreciation every Sunday for all the people who have come into our lives, and bring a ray of sunshine to their lives!

And hence, this Sunday, the 4th of August- thinking of the Sun, and remembering my father - who unfortunately left the world on this day, long, long ago and praying that the Sun God- carries my thoughts to him, I dedicate this to be the "Day of gratitude and appreciation" for all those who gave their time, their kindness, their help and effort into enriching my life. Thank you again, for making me who i am, helping me along in this journey called life !
